This magnificent old two story red brick building was built in 1927, just 45 years after the town’s settlement.  It was built to be a beautiful imposing structure with 12 ft ceilings. Wrapped in a wide first floor verandah, the Birchip Hotel exhibits all the true elements of a great country pub.

Sadly it was neglected for quite some years but thanks to loving care of the new publicans Matt Beasley & Des Ryan, this iconic building is coming back to life. In the last year it has been renovated inside and out. While trying to keep this beautiful building traditional, we have managed to modernize it enough to last another 100 years.

The key goal for this iconic pub is great food, cold beer and a family atmosphere.  We cater for lunch Tuesday – Sunday and we are open for dinner 7 days a week. Headlining a diverse menu are locally sourced steaks that are guaranteed to be some of the best steaks you will ever taste. Traditional favorites such as the popular chicken parmigiana, fresh baked lasagna, atlantic salmon, fresh seasonal seafood, curries, risotto’s and pasta’s ensure there’s something for everyone, even the kids! A beer garden and courtyard provide alfresco dining or a great facility for private function bookings, all of which are complimented by TAB with Sky Channel facilities.

We still provide excellent in house pub accommodation, upstairs with king, queen and king single rooms available.

Since reopening, many of the town’s folk have made this their local drinking hole. With the support of the town and tourism we have managed to support various local sporting and community groups and host many local events.
